Hello We're considering using Informix (which product isn't decided yet) for a large data warehouse (100-500Gb) with a large number of users (100-500). We saw our first presentation yesterday by informix and was quite impressed. It surly looks like they've covered a lot of ground with the new architecture and offer considerable function. But what I really want to know, and the marketing people won't tell me, is what kind of a company they are to do business with? And how does their database stack up against the competition (Oracle, although we have to prove why SYbase won't work as well). If you would like to send me your two cents or whatever (I'll even accept diatribes) on your experiences with Informix I'd appreciate it very much.
