I think you may check your current system with "onstat -g seg", you will get the accurated size that being used in your system. However, in my experience, I would only set DS_TOTAL_MEMORY up to 80-90% of total size of VIRTUAL PORTION. all memory segments with V flag those shown in "onstat -g seg" report. : Our instance of Informix is running on a dual processor Sun 3000, with : 256Meg of memory.
