lock mode
Posted in 2003
A user on IDS 7.31/AIX asked how to find out a table's lock mode (row vs page). Replies gave three simple methods: query the system catalog with SELECT tabname, locklevel FROM systables WHERE tabname = 'mytable' (R = row, P = page); run dbschema -d database -t table -ss, which shows lock mode plus extent sizes; or check an individual table with oncheck -pt database:table. The question was answered with no further debate.

Select locklevel from systables where tabname = "your_table"
R = Row
P = Page
? B = System Table ?
null = Version Identifier

You can use SQL:
SELECT tabname, locklevel
FROM systables
WHERE tabname = "my_table"
or:
dbschema -d my_database -t my_table -ss
Cheers,

You can all select the information from systables. The column to look at
would be locklevel. (R=Row, P=Page)

If you want to check tables individually, you can
also use:
oncheck -pt databasename:tablename
