Tools to retrieve data + pictures

Hi Family. A colleague just asked me, a PC-semi-literate, so look for tools that will retrieve data (into a form) as well as graphics or even sound (y'know, BLOBs) to be displayed & played on the PC. I recall HyperScript tools doing it (HouseHunter app) and, at least in theory, NewEra would retrieve blobs to the PC & play them. Are there any other client/server tools that will do this? And yes, I have written forms, run in an X-window envrionment, that would run xgif against the blob when I pressed ! in the blob field. But I'm looking for PC based tools to do this. Visual Basic? FoxPro? Idunno! I said I was semi-literate in these matters! ;-) Thanks. -- -- Jake (Retrospectively realizes there is no future in hindsight) +------------------------------------------------------------+ | The expedient performance of a task with excessive concern | | regarding its duration-to-completion engenders a virtual | | certainty of diminished benefit therefrom. | | -- Benjamin Franklin (but he said it in 3 words) | +------------------------------------------------------------+
