Re: ESQL/C, NewEra or other ?

We use Informix-4GL to output reports to a web site. Works great. Just cron the 4gl program, and write the report function to print the HTML tags. It is a copy paste thing if you use hotdog, netscape gold, or MS frontpage. Not interested in web? then just make the 4gl output to printer and set the default. Cron it and away you go. There is no better tool for doing reports than 4gl. The GUI stuff doesn't even come close to the record processing capability and simplicity of 4gl for these tasks. You will run into problems if you start thinking of it as a general programming lang like c. It has a purpose, and one of these is reports. James Saville BellSouth Telecommunications, Inc.
