Hello, We are using a BaaN Finance only system with Informix on a DEC UNIX platform. We are having severe performance problems. Does anybody else have a similar set-up?, or is anybody else having similar problems?, or do have a similar set-up with no performance issues? We are using BaaN version 4c2, Informix Online 7.30 Any help, pointers, comments would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance, -- Peter __________________________________ Peter Marley DBA, Acco UK Ltd Tel: +44 (0)1296 397444 ext.. 4098 Fax: +44 (0)1296 311019 email: peter.marley@acco-uk.co.uk
Peter- does BAAN have a performance/tuning service, similar to SAP EarlyWatch?? If so, that might be the quickest easiest way to get straightened out. If Baan is anything like SAP, most of the real problems are at the application level anyway. There is no performance/tuning service in BaaN. We had BaaN and Informix on site for performance tuning. The onconfig file of Informix was important and running the "update statistics" ( Informix ) on weekly basis is very important ( at our site ) The tuning of the onconfig is site depended. We are running BaaN/Informix on an Digital Alpha server with Windows NT. I made recommendations multiple times, but I'm not sure what was done with them. I will follow up with you through mail.
