Hi, I in the process of porting an application written for Informix 5 to run on a system with Informix 4.1. I'm already aware of some of the lib changes from the error messages I've got. What I was wondering is if anyone could tell me how doable or possible it is in general in moving backwards? Should I expect to be able to rewrite the relevant parts to compile with the older version? Or is it more likely that there's no way to emulate the new functions? I am in no way an Informix programmer, though fairly competent in Unix programing. To throw another wrench into it, the original system was Sun, I'm using IBM. Any insights welcome. I've included the current versions of isql and esql below. aesrs1. isql -V INFORMIX-SQL Version 4.10.UE2 Software Serial Number AAA#C387147 aesrs1. esql -V INFORMIX-ESQL Version 5.00.UC3 Software Serial Number AAA#C387146 thanks, Paul Hethmon Programmer/Analyst & IBM Certified OS/2 Engineer Agricultural Policy Analysis Center The University of Tennessee at Knoxville hethmon@apac.ag.utk.edu == 615-974-3666
