In my understanding of data base design, something is amiss here. Why are you dropping the table when all you need to do is run the DELETE statement on it? Your orders table must always be present in the data base, right? I assume it's where you store permanent order information. You could add a char(1) field to your screen form so your users could mark those records they want to remove. Then before exiting the routine to 'clear down' old orders, as you say, you run the DELETE. Won't this work for your application? (And if it won't, please tell us List members more; your application sounds interesting.) ---- Trying to help, John B. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= John Baker, USAISC-Lex, Lexington - Blue Grass Army Depot, Lexington, KY jbaker@lexington-emh2.army.mil Phone: (606) 293-3644, 293-3743 DSN: 745 =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
