This may of course limit what else you can do to the HTML (use DDW? I don't know, haven't tried). You will have to drop and re-create any tables you have. Actually you can copy your HTML tables to CLOB ones (there is an implicit cast). When you store stuff in the CLOB, cast it as HTML when inserting: '<HTML>this is html</HTML>'::html When you retrieve from the CLOBS, they should be OK with the implicit cast to HTML. You should then be able to create an ETX index on the CLOB column using 'etx_clob_doc'. I haven't tried the above but I know someone who did :-) I guess it's also pretty close to what tech support told you.
