RE: KAIO ERROR.
Posted in 1999
We received this also during initial testing during an upgrade from Pyramid
DC/OSx UNIX running Informix 4.10 to Siemens-Pyramid Reliant UNIX 5.43
running Informix 7.24.UC6. It is an OS kernel parameter issue. Adversely
affected performance for the few minutes it occurred (waiting on resource)
but no damage per se. In Reliant UNIX the kernel parameter AIO_MAX (max AIO
request structures) was increased and have not had the problem since. It
took a couple tries but increased to 3072 from the default 1024. Of course
it meant changing the mtune and a kernel rebuild and an OS bounce.
