Translating with DrWatson… this can take a few seconds the first time.
This is a genuine, complex translation. DrWatson protects commands, error codes, and log output while naturally translating the surrounding text. It’s translated once and saved.

Mark,
This is feature request (RTC2850) ER/GRID needs to work in a secure
environment.
Currently cdr check and cdr sync will not work if using the s=6 option to
create a secure network.

Subject: ER sync/check with security option [23315]
Sent by: ids-bounces@iiug.org

Presently we are not able to run cdr check/sync when defining our server
connection in sqlhosts file using the security option (s=6).
The following error is returned:
connect to syscdr@xxxxprod1_serv failed
Invalid connection-type.
(-25539)
command failed -- unable to connect to server specified (5)
Error Details:
I do have a host.equiv file setup in $INFORMIXDIR/etc which includeds the
two
servers in the ER setup.
The 'workaround' per the 11.50 documentation is to also define a regular
connection type in our SQLHOSTS file. However this is not permitted at one
of
our client sites (bank) due to hardened down security. Is there any other
way
to "conveniently" cdr sycn/check our replicates other than defining a
"regular" connection ?
In reading the 11.70 documenation it hints cdr utilities will work with the
security option if using the -c (connect) option. Can anyone verify this ?
Thanks,
Mark
