I am SO right in the middle of this now. All I want to do is upgrade my current system and after a week of phone calls back and forth I finally spoke with someone today that will get me a quote in the next couple of days. I'm about 24hrs away from saying the heck with IBM/Informix and converting everything to another database.

Use an IBM Business Partner. You'll pay half the price and get a far more personal service - at least, the IBM technican doing the work will no doubt be good, but getting to speak to that person in the first place may not be easy. Are you in the US? OnePoint, M Systems International, Advanced Data Tools and Kazer all have knowledgable people I know personally. Or we'll do it for you from England ...
