Update via logfile

Problem :- 6 regional offices all running Informix Standard engine with databases varying in size from 2GB to 7GB. We want to maintain a separate copy of each of these databases on a central machine, it is impractical to copy and restore each of the databases in its entirety via the network every night thus we are trying to update the central machine by moving the daily logfile up to the central machine and rolling forward on each of the relevant databases. However when the rollforward is actioned we get error 247 - unable to rollforward database. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks
