Out of data space error from 4gl

Anyone have a fix or info? Simple program goes off and gets a record based on sequence number, then goes to one of seven tables (based on code in the returned record) to get actual data. No cursors, tmp tables, few global variables, no concatenation of strings. Runs about 24000 records before crashing. Oh yes, we're on SE under SCO MPX.
