DESCRIPTION: Pedley-Stringer, Incorporated, a visionary provider of systems integration and information technology professionals to leading-edge companies, is currently recruiting an INFORMIX DATABASE ADMINISTRATOR for opportunities in Austin, Texas. Our client, an international semiconductor manufacturer, is experiencing tremendous growth and is seeking gifted individuals to assist them in technology efforts. REQUIREMENTS: Must have degree and over two years of experience in INFORMIX Database Administration, preferably in a high transaction environment. Knowledge of Workstream CAM systems, semiconductor industry and/or object-oriented database technology would be a plus. RESPONSIBILITIES: Will provide database administration for a large INFORMIX database. Activities to include developing backup, archive and restore procedures, ensuring full database recovery in the event of a systems failure, working with the database supplier to determine database sizing, access methods, and technical attributes that allow maximum efficiency and maintainability. Will also develop test databases for applications functionality, impact testing, and performance testing prior to production release, monitor database performance, periodic maintenance, day-to-day production and development support. Other current priorities for Pedley-Stringer, Inc. include a Desktop Systems Manager and ORACLE Database Administrators.
