Q: Fast, high cap tape need..Magstar? DLT?

We need to be able to backup our Informix V5 DB faster and are looking for a faster tape drive than the 8mm units we have now. I'd like to hear your experiences and suggestion about two issues: 1) The tape drives: What do you think of DLT, of IBM's Magstar (which has recently come down in price) 2) These drives will put data down on tape at about 5 MB/sec (8mm does a half MB/s native, 1MB compressed)...but I wonder how fast Informix will spit the data *out*.....no point in buying a firehose if it's being fed by a garden hose! So the question here is....for those of you that *have* a high spped tape like a DLT, what actual data volume do you see going to tape?
