Hi, people. My company bought a system running on HP-UX and using Informix 7.24UC6. I've used mostly mysql before, and I would need pointers towards books/howtos/faqs regarding basic Informix administration. Backups, clients and the like. If anyone can help me out with that, it'd be very much appreciated.

Well, the Informix FAQ is at . . . http://www.smooth1.demon.co.uk/informix.htm Informix documentation can be found at http://www.ibm.com/software/data/informix/pubs/library Informix home page at IBM http://www-3.ibm.com/software/data/informix A lot of other goodies are available within the article "Eleven FAQ's About comp.databases.informix and informix-list@iiug.org" posted 6/30/2003. Do a search at groups.google.com for the article.
7.24 is very, very old and if your company just bought this application, you should be asking very serious questions of your application vendor. Also, your company would probably not allow someone with no experience of your business or its financial systems to take over as Finance Director so, if this is an important system, they shouldn't expect you to run it without external help or training. -- Neil Truby t:01932 724027 Director m:07798 811708 Ardenta Limited e:neil.truby@ardenta.com "Ernesto Ten" <noego@malditainternet.com> wrote in message news:9c9e51ca.0307150719.2c5ed649@posting.google.com... > Hi, people.
