Exchange of Data between Informix and SQL-Server

Hi all, I'm looking for help with the exchange of data between Informix 12.10 and SQL Server. They want to extract data from Informix Databases to SQL Server, working on the data and put them back to Informix. They tried to use ODBC and OLEDB connection what seems rather slow. What do you suggest here? - Unload and load via files - HPL - External tables - Programming with C, or C# - ... Who has expierence with the topic and would share it. Any help is appreciated.
