ESQL/C does not support the LOAD statement -- hence the complaints. Use
I4GL, or write your own, or use the ISQL or DB-Access commands to do the
load for you.
The UPDATE statement does support the setting of an arbitrary (non-empty)
subset of the columns in a table. You can't update serial columns, of
course! You need to give much more precise indications of why you think
otherwise.
