Kiran,
To change the database from buffrered logging to no logging, can be done
without backup and restore.
ver 5.x
- Change the TAPEDEV parameter in your configuration file to /dev/null
- Execute tbtape -s -N your_database_name.
It should be the same for ver 7.x. Just change tbtape to ontape.
But if you do need to backup and restore a database , you could use
dbexport/dbimport (exclusive lock on the
database needed) or write your own unload/load shell scripts to do the same.
Yes, if your database has logging turned on, then the loads will be logged.
