The notion of pushing changes out to the web automatically seems misplaced to me. Why do you need to push anything out? Why not have client requests go directly to the database for the info? Using cgi, you can dynamically generate your web pages from your databases (or using Illustra and the Web datablade, achieve the same thing). You can download ESQL/CGI and 4GL/CGI toolkits from the informix web site (http://www.informix.com), and there are other sql interfaces (java, pearl) that could achieve the same end. If available to you, server side includes make this even cleaner. Cgi is particularly appealing if you don't have the time to learn yet another programming language (assuming you already knoow esql/c and/or 4gl) like Java. -- Dave Kosenko, Informix Professional Services **************************************************************************** While it is true that there is more than one way to skin a cat, the cat himself generally fails to appreciate the differences.
