jdbc and metadata.getTableName not working...

Hello All engine 9.30 on linux. thesql = " select orders.*, customer.* from orders , customer " + " where customer.customer_num = orders.customer_num " + " order by customer.customer_num, orders.order_num ; "; try { theprep = (IfmxPreparedStatement)conn.prepareStatement(thesql); themetadata = (IfmxResultSetMetaData)theprep.getMetaData(); nrcols = themetadata.getColumnCount(); for ( i = 1 ; i <= nrcols ; i++ ) { myapp.traceit(9, themetadata.getTableName(i) + "."+ themetadata.getColumnName(i)); } jdbc driver version 2.21.JC3 returned for themetadata.getTableName(i) the first table listed in the from clause for all columns ahum wrong. version 2.21.JC6 does not return a thing for themetadata.getTableName(i) Neither does 3.00.JC1.... Question: is this suppose to work like this or is it a bug??? comments are welcome. Superboer.
