Just installed ISA 1.5 to try it with IDS 9.4 Windows Trial. It says that the server is offline. But the server is online and I can access data from test clients. There are no error messages. How can I get ISA to see the server as online like it should? I used the default settings for install of ISA and IDS. Thanks. -- _________________________________________ Don Gollahon dlgllhn@InHisStepsSoftware.com ICQ#: 115831669 MSN Msgr: dlgllhn@theinter.com "What in Eternity does it matter?" _________________________________________

ISA has a configuration file 'isacfg' in 'ISA-installdir\\etc'. This file should contain something like: INFORMIXSERVER ids940 INFORMIXDIR C:\\informix\\ids ONCONFIG onconfig.ids END The above information is usually maintained by editing the isacfg file by selecting the [Specify Local Informix Servers] button on the first page in ISA. As you might know, you can configure IDS to use different communication methods (shared memory, tcp/ip and more). A connection's communication method is determined by the value of INFORMIXSERVER. Make sure that INFORMIXSERVER has the same value as when you connect a client. Then it should work.

Here are my settings: INFORMIXSERVER ol_mgrgolla1 INFORMIXDIR c:\\informix ONCONFIG onconfig.ol_mgrgolla1 END Are there any other Windows apps available, hopefully for free, that can administer Informix servers?
