SQLError -766: Value must be null terminated

Hello! I have written an application in Powerbuilder 6.0 that connects to an Informix 7.23 instance. The application does a simple lookup of first/middle/last name based on an SSN. In the development environment, the query works fine. When I deploy the application however, I get the above error. Also, the same query will work on a different database in the deployed version. For those of you who are familiar with Powerbuilder, I have tried Embedded SQL, using the SSN as a retrieval argument to a datawindow, and even creating a user object that has a method that does a query against the DB using the SSN. The SSN is captured from a single line edit. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Steve
