Informix Tech support may have me killed for posting this, but you can log in as "informix", and update the owner column of systables, and sysindexes. I missed the original article, so I don't know if you are using OnLine, or SE. (My SE knowledge is a little rusty these days). But I believe it works for SE. I have done it several times under OnLine, and it works fine. Be careful playing in the catalogs. Be sure not to change the ownership of any tables owned by Informix.
