HELP!! On-line 4.0 problems...
Posted in 1993
We are running On-line 4.0 on a SPARC2 under SUN OS 4.1.1
The application is a 4gl app with about 64 tables in the database using the
I-SQLRF(Runtime Facility).
THE PROBLEM: The creation of 2 databases each having their own DBSPACE
(cooked).
The first database and first chuck works fine the application runs fine.
The second database is created (using dbimport) and tasks such as creating
a temp table from within 4gl bombs out with the following error:
SQL statement error number -229
Could not open or create a temp file
SYSTEM error number -102
ISAM error: illegal argument to ISAM function
Then the DBSPACE goes down. Another problem with 4.0 I have found is that I
can't bring up a STATUS to bring back up the DBSPACE. Is this a bug????
I looked up all the error messages and checked file permissions, disk space,
and database index corruption...Nothing...
If this rings a bell for anyone, PLEASE send me your suggestions!!!
I have tried creating the 2 databases in 1 DBSPACE and everything works
fine. However, one database is for a specific application and the second
database is for ALPHA test and we don't want to have any problems with the
"LIVE" data....
Thanks!!
