Re: Disappearing of oninit and onmode excutable file
Posted in 2005
Hi,
surely I've seen many things, some very strange.
But I've never seen such thing.
Usually, some user has done something to cause this.
In a proper installation, both binaries belong to user
root and thus can be moved/deleted only by user root.
Typically there's no history for user root (for security
reasons), so I would not expect to see something about
the command(s) in any history file ...
To fix it (get back the lost binaries) you can either
install again (whole procedure) in your $INFORMIXDIR,
or you do a "fake install" in a different directory and the
just get those 2 binaries and "move them over" before
removing the fake installation again.
Maybe first variant is better ... who knows what else
went missing.
Regards,
Martin
