Sizing dbspaces

Does anyone have any recommendation or guidelines we can use in determining a base sizing strategy for rootdbs and physicaldbs. I am most conerned about physicaldbs. I used the formula in the Admin guide to determine a size for physicaldbs but I am not sure if the result was in pages or kbytes. The number it calculated was 300, and we currently have our physicaldbs set at 18k. thanks in advance. Lori
