There are many front-end applications available on the Macintosh that are DAL or ODBC aware. Some of the front end tools that do ad-hoc queries are Brio's DataPrism, Andyne's GQL and PaBLO, Fairfield Software's Clear Access and SelectStar's StarTreive. Beyond just doing queries there are over 40 commercially available applications and application development environments that enable the Macintosh to access Informix. Once you have the application you need the client-server middleware to access Informix remotely. There is EDA/SQL from Information Builders, SequeLink from Techgnosisand the DAL Server for Unix from Pacer Software (the company I work for). All of these work quite well. If you would like more information on DAL please send me email at the address listed below. -- Paul Kamp Pacer Software, Inc. pgk@pacersoft.com Applelink: PACER
