monitoring IDS latches and locks

Hi, I have the tools to monitor the number of IDS latch and lock waits, but what I am looking for is a reference on determining what is an excessive or unusually high number of these waits in a given period of time. Any references would be appreciated. IDS Workgroup 7.31 and 10 Thanks, Jim
