Re: HyperScript Tools under OpenWindows 3.3
Posted in 1994
I run this environment in a large site. There's no trouble with opening Wingz sheets (originating from SunOS and Mac). However, there are differences between the HSR (the HyperScript Runtime product) and HST (HyperScript Tools). In fact this site runs both UNIX and Mac over ISDN (hence the decision to sun Solaris boxes instead of SunOS) running the same application code on all platforms. Without intending to malign Mr Sun, Soalris isn't perfect yet. I understand that Sun has literally dozens of patches to 2.3 and a good serve of 'jumbo' patches. In Australia, 2.4 is not too far away but is being delayed until 'everything is slid' so I'm waiting to move some systems from SunOS (aka Solaris 1) to Solaris until I've seen 2.4 running smoothly. HST can set preferences and 'save the desktop', so this should be a one time hassle. The resulting 'ini' files are text files so one could edit and 'disseminate' such profiles. Regards Adam ps. Maybe a mountain bike stick figure would look interesting. wood@MCS.COM (Greg Woodard) writes: >I am trying to run HyperScript Tools under Solaris 2.3. Has anyone else done >this?
