C-ISAM doesn't have a data dictionary to tell you what is in those files. This makes the facility you'd like essentially impossible to write. You can make some guesses at what is in the file by examining the index structures, but outside the indexed fields, only the applications which access the C-ISAM files can know what should be in the file. If the C-ISAM files are part of an SE database, the situation is quite different. Then the system catalogue contains complete details of the structure of the files. But the typical C-ISAM file from an stand-alone application is not structured in a way which SE will accept.
