Alicia - I'm about to migrate from 5.05.UC1 to 7.12.UC3 on Solaris 2.4. V7 is a different animal for sure, lots of new features, functions, knobs & controls to twiddle. Probably too many considerations to get into here, though I would suggest collecting performance stats if possible for some or all of your apps on v5 to compare to v7. Some things will get much faster, some will get slower & some won't change much at all. Also, one of the nice things for us is that client IP addresses are no longer required in the servers hosts file. That alone is probably good enough reason for us to migrate.
