Re: I-NET on WIN95

I just wanted to jump in here and point something out about I-NET and WIN95. Each of the people who have stated they are using I-NET on Win95 have listed a 16 bit app with which they are running it. 32 bit I-NET for Win95 is not available at this time. My Informix rep tells me end of 2nd qtr for 32 bit I-NET on Win95. There is an 32 bit version of I-NET version 5.01.TE1 for NT. This version does run on Win95. The problem I have with this version is that it calls PEEKMESSAGE while in the middle of an SQL call that takes more that about a second. This causes application like ACCESS and others to become re-entrant. Needless to say these apps do not like to be re-entrant. There is also available 7.01.something for NT. This version works great on NT but bails on 95. The long and short of it is 16 bit apps should work with 16 bit I-NET on Win95. 32 bit apps MIGHT work with the 5.01.TE1 for NT but Informix will not support this configuration. So when talking about I-NET for Win95 you need to know whether or not the App you want to run is 16 or 32 bit as to whether or not there is support for it.
