There are significant differences, and there are a number of statements which can be rolled back in OnLine but not rolled back in SE -- CREATE TABLE and GRANT are two that spring to mind. Otherwise, you may be hitting a bug -- but not one which I recall ever having heard about. The transaction control mechanisms have been 100% reliable for me, barring external influences such as running out of space for the SE transaction log! But I am immensely sceptical; I would take a lot of convincing that this is happening and is an engine-level bug. What sort of statements are missed? Which mode of database are you using? Is it reproducible? And what is the latest version for the platform? I'm reasonably confident that 4.1x engines are way out of date -- there should be a 5.0x version available, unless the operating system is also obsolete.
