If you have 24 dual core chips in your machine - to me that corresponds to 48 CPUs.
Anyway, I would set "VPCLASS cpu,num=24,max=48,noage" so that IDS starts up with 24 CPUVPs. Then use 'onmode -p +x cpu' to dynamically
change the number of CPUVPs where 'x' is the number of VPs you want to add. Test and see if you get better performance. Ofcourse you can
also reduce the number of CPUVPs using '-x'.
