IDS version = 11.70.FC7GE OS = HP UX 9000/800 11605882 Hi All, We have on average 800 users and 2600 sessions running per day. I would like to know if there is a limit on the number of users/sessions on IDS 11.70.FC7GE ? How can I check that the message portion of the memory allocated to IDS is enough ? We are also ex
There is no theoretical or contractual maximum for Growth/Workgroup Edition unless you have a user based license. Limited User Socket and PVU licenses do not limit the number of users/connections you can have. For shared memory connections, you have a practical hard limit set in your NETTYPE ipcshm settings which is the number of listeners time the number of slots per listener that you configured. So, if you have NETTYPE ipcshm,5,200,CPU then you can support up to 1,000 concurrent connections and no more without reconfiguring and bouncing the server. For network (soctcp or tlitcp) and streampipe (ipcstr) connections there is not hard limit. The server will expand its listening to handle more connections as needed though more than about 350-450 connections per listener will tend to affect responsiveness. Art Art S.
