SQL query involving multiple IDS instances

Hi all, We are currently running two IDS instances in separate SLES hosts: one is a 9.40 UC5 and the other one is a 11.50 UC5. We came across the task of getting data from databases hosted in both instances in a single SQL query. Looking at the IBM documentation didn't give us a clear solution. Is it possible? Do we need any software or special connectors to achive that? Thanks in advance
Select db1@instance1:table local, db2@instance2:table remote where local.col = remote.col; Sqlhosts entries may need to be defined. Permissions etc . But that is the sql syntax On May 24, 2012 4:45 PM, "DEPARTAMENTO SISTEMAS" <sistemas.dgft@minhap.es> wrote: > Hi all, > > We are currently running two IDS instances in separate SLES hosts: one is a > 9.40 UC5 and the other one is a 11.50 UC5. > > We came across the task of getting data from databases hosted in both > instances in a single SQL query. > > Looking at the IBM documentation didn't give us a clear solution. > > Is it possible? Just added the entrance to $INFORMIXDIR\\\\etc\\\\sqlhosts refered to the other instance and the service in /etc/services and worked like a charm. Thanks a lot mates!
