Re: NEWERA THE END? --- does anyone care?

Felix, Your post will stay with me for at least a quarter... :-) Serious, it was a great point, and I must admit, I've been trying to get a pulse on the great GUI chase, and your points will stay with my thinking for some time. It's damn frustrating to pick out a tool or methodology only to find out somebody else's product "does that and a whole lot more", or "coming soon the next great methodology that will save us". 4GL seems to be persisting in spite of the GUIs, which is quite remarkable. Probably the tools I haven't given up on are shell script, and vi, they're like bad pennies, they just won't go away. Hmmm, maybe 4GL is in that class as well. :-) Thanks, Tim Felix Koshy Mathews wrote: > > >From Informix development tools I recommend only 4GL which have a good history and > life span.
