Hi everyone. Kind of a sanity check question of you don't mind. I have a situation where I have an IDS 9.4 database that has a tempdbs dataspace that is not big enough to handle some sort intensive queries. According to what I am reading by simply changing the ONCONFIG parm DBSPACETEMP from pointing to the tempdbs to simply commenting out DBSPACETEMP that will result in the temp/sort data being written to the /tmp . Is that true? Is there any harm this change could cause aside from perhaps using up all of /tmp? Thanks unix is aix 5.2
Hi Will, try setting the variables DBTEMP and PSORT_DBTEMP pointing to a filesystem where you have a lot of free space Jacques Lapeire -----Original Message----- From: ids-bounces@iiug.org [mailto:ids-bounces@iiug.org] On Behalf Of WILL LANDSTROM Sent: woensdag 18 juni 2008 15:15 To: ids@iiug.org Subject: IDS 9.4 DBSPACETEMP versus /tmp [12447] Hi everyone. Better, set PDQPRIORITY to something other than zero, set PSORT_NPROCS > 1 and PSORT_DBTEMP to a list of filesystems to use for sort-work files.
