Hello, IDS 11.10 FC2W1 What exactly is to be set against RTO_SERVER_RESTART ?? is it the TIME with in which we want the server to complete the fast recovery once we restart the IDS. IF YES i read that it ignores the CKPTINTVL parameter so does it means that if we have set the RTO_SERVER_RESTART 300 (guessing that we have to set the time)then the IDS will monitor the physical and logical log and force a checkpoint. Dont know what exactly this parameter does. pls if any one can help me in understanding the funtionality by settging this parameter then may be i can start using it.( new parameters are introduced so as to be used ). Thaking you all in advance. Regards vikas
Here's a great article describing just that: http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/db2/library/techarticle/dm-0703lashley/ The title is: Non-blocking checkpoints in Informix Dynamic Server Written by Scott Lashley On Tue, Jun 3, 2008 at 7:58 AM, VIKAS HIVARKAR <vikashivarkar3@gmail.com> wrote: > Hello, > > IDS 11.10 FC2W1 > > What exactly is to be set against RTO_SERVER_RESTART ?? > is it the TIME with in which we want the server to complete the fast recovery > once we restart the IDS. > IF YES > i read that it ignores the CKPTINTVL parameter so does it means that if we > have set the RTO_SERVER_RESTART 300 (guessing that we have to set the > time)then the IDS will monitor the physical and logical log and force a > checkpoint. > > Dont know what exactly this parameter does. pls if any one can help me in > understanding the funtionality by settging this parameter then may be i can > start using it.( new parameters are introduced so as to be used ). > > Thaking you all in advance. > > Regards > vikas > > > ******************************************************************************* > Forum Note: Use "Reply" to post a response in the discussion forum. > >
