Informix are aware of gcc (It is mentioned in one of the 4GL release notes - remember to use the -fwritable-strings option with gcc). If it is mentioned in release notes and the release notes tell you to use a particular option that implies supporting it. If you say you can only use gcc, have a small test program ready to demonstrate the problem. Then they will ask for a) Only the source to the test program if it is a run-time error. b) The source to the program and - the generated .4ec and .ec files for 4GL - the generated .c file for 4GL/ESQLC. if it is a compiler bug. I doubt they would worry to much about the C compiler if they can replicate the problem using .4gl/.ec/.c files!!! They will then ask for the test program so they can try it themselves b) ask for the test program >All information is appreciated. > > >Neal Leitner -- David Williams
