Online 7.23 Unable To Go Offline

Running old Solaris 2.6, Online 7.23, UC4: The Server "hung" in quiescent
mode, with status CKPT/LBU. All logical logs used. Traced process to a script
ateempting to delete all rows in a very large table. I have a level zero
restore tape (ontape). How can I get the server into an offline state in order
to do a level 0 restore? Do not find an equivalent ONCLEAN utility as on IDS
11.7? Any suggestions will be appeciated. Thanks..Chet
I assume that onmode -ky is not working. You will have to force a crash
and cleanup manually. First find out the keys for the shared memory
segments the engine owns. You can look in the onstat -g seg report. Note
these for later. To crash the engine, run onstat -g glo and get the pids
of the first CPU VP and the ADM and MSC VPs. Run a kill -9 against all
three to hard crash the instance. You may have to clean up shared memory.
All of the other VPs should have exiting after this, but you can use ps -p
<pid1,pid2,...> to see if they are still running and kill them as well if
any are still around. Run ipcs -m and look for shared memory segments with
the keys you identified earlier. If any still exist, destroy them with
ipcrm -M <keyval> or ipcrm -m <segment_id>.
Now you should be able to restore from archive. Be careful not to roll
forward the logical logs saved during the big delete.
FWIW: Time to upgrade - BIG TIME!

Kill all oninit processes and ipcrm all shared memory segments for this
instance

Thanks to both of you. Paul's response cleared the CKPT/LBU server status and let me continue with a normal operation.
