If that's the case, I refer you to the "Question and Answers" section of the Spring 1990 Tech Notes. There is a sample program that PROMPTs the user for an 8-character password (without it echoing back on the screen). It's really quite simple. All you need to do is use the CHAR clause of the PROMPT statement inside a loop for as many characters as you want the password to be. --- John =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= John Baker, USAISC-Lex, Lexington - Blue Grass Army Depot, Lexington, KY jbaker@lexington-emh2.army.mil Phone: (606) 293-3644, 293-3743 DSN: 745- =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
