Translating with DrWatson… this can take a few seconds the first time.
This is a genuine, complex translation. DrWatson protects commands, error codes, and log output while naturally translating the surrounding text. It’s translated once and saved.

Well, I finally moved my production db to 7.22 from 5.03. After
(finally) remembering to do an UPDATE STATISTICS and tuning
the parameters, things seem OK, but a bit slower than ver 5..
My question: the onstat -u output has a "Y" in the first slot of the
flags column for _all_ my client processes almost all the time.
The doc just says that a "Y" means that the process is waiting on a
condition. What condition????
Does it mean waiting in the sense that it is being held up by
something, or waiting in the sense that it is idle and has nothing to
do??
It is normal to see all these all these "Y"'s in the first flag slot??
Or should this slot be empty most of the time??
Any help appreciated.
A perplexed DBA
