That would be a bug. From the ODBC Help doc: "If the information in the system information duplicates information in the connection string, the driver uses the information in the connection string." In this case, the system information means information stored in the data source (DSN) key. I just ran it the other way by specifying a bogus host and a valid DSN in my connection string and the connect went through to the host from the DSN.
