dbimport Problems: 567 and 116 Errors

AIX 4.3.3 and Informix 9.30.UC2 Dbimport fails when it reaches update statistics high for table ar_cash_history ( cash_amt, cash_balance, cash_batch_no, cash_bill_date, cash_chk_amt, cash_chk_num, cash_cus_code, cash_date, cash_payor, cash_pro_number, cash_receivable, cash_trans_code)resolution 0.50000 ; at this stage onstat -g seg shows Informix Dynamic Server Version 9.30.UC2 -- On-Line -- Up 4 days 19:58:04 -- 300096 Kbytes Segment Summary: id key addr size ovhd class blkused blkfree 262154 1381451777 30000000 229752832 221796 R 56063 29 131085 1381451778 40000000 8192000 856 V 2000 0 131084 1381451779 50000000 2244608 672 M 515 33 131083 1381451780 60000000 8388608 856 V 1943 105 15 1381451781 70000000 8388608 856 V 2015 33 16 1381451782 80000000 8388608 856 V 623 1425 262161 1381451783 90000000 8388608 856 V 1 2047 262162 1381451784 a0000000 8388608 856 V 1 2047 262163 1381451785 b0000000 8388608 856 V 1 2047 262164 1381451786 c0000000 8388608 856 V 1 2047 262165 1381451787 e0000000 8388608 856 V 1 2047 Total: - - 307298304 - - 63164 11860 (* segment locked in memory) So I copied from this to the end of sql file and did Onmode -F And ran it I get the same errors again Thanks Basheer X 3269

The error 24 EMFILE , shows " [EMFILE] The maximum number of file descriptors allowed are currently open." . The problem could be with ur kernel level params maxfiles or nfil ( not sure which one ), so ask ur sys ad to increase the limit of max open files per process and system wide and rebuild the kernel. Alternatively, you can try to increase SHMADD in onconfig ( to double - from 8192 to 16384 ).
