miperl interface to IUS 9.12

My bugs with informix continue. We are using the Universal Server v9.12UC2. We had a big assert Fail this am. My thoughts are now focussing on the perl interface. Has anyone experienced a memory leak using the interface? Right now we open a connection and instance perhaps hundreds of web explodes in one session, do you think that it might be important to open the connection and close it on a per-transaction basis? Any help is appreciated...
