failure informix connection

We have a problem in phase of configuring database: when I try to connect to Informix the system response: "Specified user name in not known on the database server. Check that specified database user name is spelled right and exists on your system" I have check user name and user exists on our system. Someone knows the problem or similar ? What can I doing for solving the problem ? Thank you.
