request for help

My IIUG Member #9768 My firewall won't allow me to access news thru IE so I need to use cc:mail instead. I am running Informix V7.1 under Digital UNIX on networked Alpha 1000 Servers, using DBACCESS to write SQL. A typical SQL would be; SELECT team_number, case_number, count(*) > FROM fipr WHERE birthdate between "07/01/1998" and "09/30/1998" GROUP BY 1, 2 > ORDER BY 1, 2; My problem is that I cannot allow users access to DBACCESS for seurity reasons, and I have a lot of these SQL's that are to run on a monthly/quarterly schedule with ever changing values. ViewPoint is beyond most of them. Is there syntax to allow dynamic updating variable data values in SQL at runtime. E.G., to prompt the user to input a new 'birthdate' value.
